Digital Mock-Up: Window Detail

Lately, we've been using digital mock-ups more and more. Here is an example of one at a window detail:

I have a couple of questions:
1) Was program was this created in?
2) Do Architects accept this in lieu of actual mock-ups?

Regardless of end use, this looks like a great way to communicate details to the project team.

This was done in Revit.

On this project, we used this with the architect to finalize and discuss the detail. We plan to do an actual mockup.
